Frequently Asked Questions

We've answered some of the most frequently asked questions on this page. If you have a question we didn't answer, or just want to get in touch, we'd love to hear from you! 

 

SHIPPING 

Where do you ship? 

We currently ship to the US and Canada. For shipments to other countries, customers can order through Ajevie (https://ajevie.com/) who specializes in shipping indie and niche perfumes all over the world. 

How will my package be shipped? 

Orders shipping within the contiguous US are shipped via USPS First Class Mail, which includes a tracking number but does not require a signature and does not include insurance. Canadian orders are shipped with USPS First Class International. 

How quickly will my order ship?

We typically ship orders within 5 days, but that can change due to order volume. On the homepage of our website there is an up-to-date banner that indicates the maximum current order turnaround time. Please note that if you pre-order a product, your entire order will ship with the pre-ordered item and arrive on the date indicated for the pre-ordered item. 

Why can’t I have my order now? 

Unlike big box and mega online companies, we have a small team of very awesome and mostly part time elves and rock stars who are caregivers for children, elderly relatives, friends, neighbors, and ourselves.  We do business based on our core values, including human kindness and dedication to creating a kick@$$ product made by hand from start to finish. We do our very best to make it worth the wait and promise you it won’t be a super long wait! 

I placed multiple orders. Can you combine shipping? 

We do our best to process orders quickly and operate in a small space so as much as we’d like to, we are unable to hold and combine orders upon request.  If we happen to see that you have placed multiple orders, we will combine them to lessen the environmental impact of shipping, however additional shipping costs cannot be refunded. 

My package was returned to Poesie or was not delivered. What happens now?

For returned packages:We will contact you to let you know your package was returned to us and refund the cost of the products purchased (minus the shipping).  You can then reorder your product if desired, however we cannot cover the additional cost of re-shipping.

For suspected lost or stolen packages: If your tracking states your item has been delivered and you haven’t received it, we recommend contacting your local post office as soon as possible to see if they can provide additional information about any missing or undelivered shipments. 

Package is running late: If the estimated delivery date has passed and USPS is not able to help you, please let us know and we will work with you on next steps.

I received a damaged product. What should I do? 

If your package arrived containing products that were damaged in shipping, please keep all of the packaging materials and take pictures of the damage; both may be helpful in filing a claim with USPS if that is necessary.  Please also let us know (at customerservice(AT)poesieperfume(DOT)com) and we’ll do what we can to help resolve the issue. 

ORDERS

What forms of payment do you accept? 

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and Paypal. If we could accept baked goods, we would. 

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

We want you to be 100% happy with your Poesie experience. However, for hygiene reasons, we are not able to accept returns on our products. If you are not thrilled with your purchase, please contact us at customerservice(AT)poesieperfume(DOT)com and we will work with you to find a solution. 

I’m ordering something as a gift for someone else, do you offer gift wrapping?  

Every order is wrapped in lovely tissue paper with a sticker (because we all love stickers right?). If you are placing a gift order and would like us to include a special note, please let us know by using the notes field at checkout and we will hand write whatever you tell us to (please keep it clean and nice and be sure to let us know the name of the person receiving the gift if you would like that included). We do not include an invoice with orders so there is no price information in the package. 

Do you offer gift certificates? 

Yes! If you’re not sure what to order for your bestie, we have gift certificates so they can order whatever their heart desires. 

I love free samples. Do you offer those with orders? 

Free samples are included with orders over $10, the more you order the more free samples you receive (just sayin’). You can request specific samples in the order notes at checkout and we will do our best to include them. Feel free to leave back up scents you’d like to try! Please note that special collection samples are made in limited quantities and may not be available.

I placed an order and want to change or cancel it. What do I do? 

Please contact us promptly at customerservice(AT)poesieperfume(DOT)com if you need to cancel your order. Orders can be cancelled if the order has not yet been prepared for shipment. Changes cannot be made to existing orders.  

PRODUCT INFORMATION

Are all your products vegan and cruelty free? 

Yes! All of our products are always vegan and cruelty free.  We test all Poesie products in house to be sure it’s up to our high standards (that’s right we’re over here drinking tea samples and smelling fabulous). 

Are your perfume oils all natural? 

Our perfumes contain a combination of stunning natural ingredients and synthetic ingredients typically in a base of fractionated coconut oil. Many synthetics are pretty much identical to their natural counterparts. Synthetics are good replacements for what would otherwise be over-harvested or astronomically-priced natural ingredients. 

How long can perfumes be stored?

If stored in a cool, dark place, they should last indefinitely, although the scents may change over time. 

I have allergies and/or sensitive skin. Can I use your products? 

If you have sensitive skin or have had allergic-reactions to topically-applied products in the past, please test perfume on a small area before slathering yourself in our products (we know it may be tempting). If you experience redness or other irritation after doing a patch test, please discontinue use.

Our teas have the ingredients listed on the back and include a warning if the tea includes nut or nut flavoring. If you have any questions or concerns about any of the ingredients we use, please reach out to us at customerservice(AT)poesieperfume(DOT)com

How do I properly use perfume oils? AKA what not to do with perfume. 

Perfume oils are not meant to be ingested or applied to your eyes, ears, nose, mouth or any other mucus membranes. They should be kept out of the reach of children and pets. Perfume oils are not for use on children under the age of 6. If you are being treated for a serious health issue, please consult your doctor before introducing the topical application of any substance to your routine. Some perfume ingredients may cause phototoxicity if applied before sun exposure. 

Will perfume stain fabric?

Darker oils may stain if applied directly to light-colored clothing -- please take appropriate precautions.

When are you bringing [any other perfume besides the ones currently listed on our website] back?

Due to the limitations of time and space, we can only offer a limited number of perfumes at a time. We try to bring back favorites (yours and ours) on a periodic basis because we deeply relate to the pain of having a beloved scent discontinued. (RIP Mary Kay Acapella crying emoji).
